WHAT IS A GREEN LEADER?


The Green Leader Program is a certification platform for local businesses to showcase their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Any business that is a member of the Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce or is located within the city limits of Rockford is eligible to apply for a Green Leader Environmental Stewardship designation. To qualify, a business must score a certain number of points from a variety of categories. There are three Green Leader designations based on the total sustainability score: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
TO APPLY, PLEASE SELECT THE APPLICATION THAT MOST CLOSELY FITS YOUR BUSINESS

Green Leader Application for Small Retail or Non-Profit
Green Leader Application for Large Commercial or Industrial Businesses
Green Leader Application for Food Service Industry

Once a business qualifies for one of the designations and is approved by the Rockford SusCom, that business will be given an official Green Leader logo sticker signifying the certification level. The sticker is to be displayed prominently on the window of the business and can also be used on marketing materials (menu, website, social media, etc.). SusCom will highlight the business on the SusCom Facebook page, below on the website, and in the Rockford Squire newspaper.
