Wednesday, January 21, 2026
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
at Rockford City Hall, 7 South Monroe Street Rockford, MI 49341

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Learn the basics of home composting your food scraps and lawn waste from the experts at The Wormies! You will not only be keeping waste out of the landfill, but also enriching your soil and making your own garden healthier.

Not into DIY or at-home composting? No biggie! Rockford has been testing out community-wide composting services for many years. Our next test: curbside pickup! Join this event to learn more about curbside pickup opportunities through Wormies. With enough support, we can finally make Rockford a Composting Community

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Luis Chen began his vermicomposting (composting with worms) in 2017 with the help of family and friends and a dream to create a thriving regenerative farm that fosters biodiversity, enriches the soil, and nurtures the community with nutrient-dense food and compost. Since that time his business has expanded to twelve West Michigan communities, now including Rockford! By applying science and a lot of hard work, Wormies delivers a product that you and your plants will love!
